Equity markets continue to consolidate and volatility has somewhat abated but uncertainty continues to be the prevailing mood. Market action has been fluctuating between resilient and weak. Broad equity indices are not breaking recent crucial support levels, but they are also not showing any inclination to resume the long-term uptrend. At this point, we are maintaining the view that the long-term uptrend is intact and will continue to do so until the market tells us otherwise. As with previous times in a similar market environment, dividends and interest income will bolster our portfolio values while we wait out the consolidation.
