The rally in equities which started earlier this month is losing steam and it looks like yet another short-term rally which leads to a mild pullback. This is all within a bigger picture of an intermediate bear which ended last October and has been in a bottoming out phase since.
We expect more of the same over the next few months as this process plays out. Once the bottoming process that started in 2022 is over, an impressive intermediate-term rally which takes markets to new all-time highs is possible. The most recent examples of this kind of move are the big gains in 2016 and 2019 after the markets bottomed out during a bearish period.
We advise investors to be patient, enjoy the warmer weather and invest new funds, if available, over the next few months.
